  1. This is an MS Windows 3.x tool. It provides computer-aided design and 
  2. analysis tool for Token-Ring network performance modeling. It calculates
  3. LAN utilization levels, waiting times, and the RI/RO cable plant lengths.

  5. 1. To install RingStat, move all unzipped files to a subdirectory of
  6. your choosing.

  8. 2. From within MS Windows program manager, select File and then New. Type 
  9. RingStat as the Name, and RINGSTAT.EXE with the path as the command. (If 
  10. you created a subdirectory, then type C:\RINGSTAT\RINGSTAT.EXE for path.)

  12. 3. RingStat is a Visual Basic program and requires VBRUN100.DLL or its 
  13. successors. This is generally available on various CompuServe Forums. This 
  14. dynamic-runtime linked library (DLL) file can be placed with RINGSTAT.EXE, or
  15. best in the \WINDOWS subdirectory.

  17. 4. Once installed, invoke the RingStat icon (PC's on a LAN) and select 
  18. the Analyze command button (a rectangular button with those words).
